English composer and organist. Born in Oxford, William Walond served there as assistant organist and copyist at New College and Christ Church Cathedral. He was succeeded at his death by his son, who was christened William after his father.
Walond was responsible for a collection of organ voluntaries. He also set Alexander Pope's Ode on St Cecilia's Day.
