  • Difficult to know what the first publication was. There is a 1555 publication called "Qvartvs liber modvlorvm, qvatvor, qvinqve et sex vocvm, (qvos vvlgvs moteta vocat) à quibusuis celeberrimis authoribus excerptus, & nunc primum in lucem æditus" that has as one of its items a "Hodie nobis coelorum rex (secunda pars: Gloria in excelsis Deo) / C. Goudimel --". There is also another collection from 1560? called "Tertius Liber Modulorum, Quatuor et Quinque Vocum, (quos vulgus Motteta vocat) à quibusuis celeberrimis authoribus excerptus. Bassus" that seems to have the same piece, or at least one by the same name, in it.
