Robert Bateman (fl.1609, died 1618)

The details of his life which are known have all been deduced from his will. He was a member of the Company of Musicians and apparently played the violin and viol ... It is possible that he was one of the many Englishmen who worked for a time on the Continent, though no direct evidence for this has come to light. Works by him were published in Hamburg in 1609, 1617 and 1621.
