Catalan organist and composer. Catalan organist and composer. [...] He entered the priesthood and served as organist at SS Justo y Pastor in Barcelona from 1715 to 1725, when he moved to Madrid to become 'Capellan de su Majestad' and principal organist of the convent of the Descalzas Reales.

Elias's organ works fall into two major categories: the larger pieces (variously termed pieza, obra, tiento, paso, tocata, intento etc.), and the sets of brief versets for alternatim use in Mass or Office psalms. [...]
