How to produce a pdf score

Instructions for typesetters using a TeX-based tool (MusiXTeX, PMX, M-Tx etc.)

Since the PDF Format is now the standard in which scores are published in the Werner Icking Music Archive, contributors of MusixTex-based scores will want to know how to publish their scores in that format.
The following instructions assume that you have a running TeX system with which to produce a dvi ("device-independent") TeX output file, and that the installation includes dvips, the driver that produces a PostScript file from the dvi file. If not, please refer to the excellent installation instructions written by

Obtaining and installing Ghostview

All you need to go from your PostScript output to PDF is to install Ghostview (Version 4.3 or better). Ghostview (usually called "GSView" in Windows versions, or simply "gs" in LinuX) is essentially in the public domain and is normally included in packages such as MikTeX (for Windows) or Redhat, SuSe etc. (for Linux). If you dont have it yet, download the software from the GNU Ghostview archive -- it is easy to install.

That's ALL!
