The news of the sudden death of Werner pains me deeply even if I never met him in person. I don't know anything of his life but musical interests. But from the little field of the music we can see his personality. He was generous, intelligent, a passionate music lover: a very nice person. His musical editions are great models not only of typesetting music, but also to think music. His musical archive is the best of the net. With my little knowledge of TeX, I would never be a MusiXTeX user without his help.
