Contribute new WIMA score to IMSLP
-
Click on the composition title in IMSLP's composer page. That takes you to
the work page of the composition. Click on the button Add
Multiple Files
- That takes you to the score Add File page. In this form enter
information on the WIMA score files associated with the composition. In
the fields File #1 - File #20 you should select the
files to upload. Click on the button Browse... to start the file
selection. In the file selection window click the button Open
when you have found and selected the file to upload
- Now you have path of the file to upload in the field File #1
- In the fields File Description #1 - File Description #20 you
should enter brief descriptions of the files uploaded for example Complete
Score. The IMSLP page IMSLP:Score
submission guide/File Descriptions explains which descriptions to apply
for various score files like separate parts etc.
- In the fields near the bottom of the form you should enter information common
to all score files. In the fields File/Image type and
Copyright you select suitable values from their drop-down
menus. In the fields Scanner/Typesetter the name of the WIMA
contributor. If the score is an edition of music by another composer enter
the name of the contributor in the field Editor. The name should
be entered in IMSLP code as a link the IMSLP page of the contributor,
for example {{LinkEd|Alejandro|Durán}}
Unless the work is part of specific publisher catalog like Jennifer
Paull's catalog, Amoris International, you should list the name of the
contributor as the publisher. Making things available on IMSLP meets
the legal definition of publication in most locales. This
additionally establishes that the contributor is the copyright owner of the
composition/arrangement/edition in question and that anyone wishing to use the
work for a commercial purpose needs to contact the contributor.
In the field Misc. notes enter the template code
{{WIMAProject}} in order to make the score part of WIMA. If the score
belongs to one of WIMA's special collection you should apply the template code
extended with a link to the collection, for example
{{WIMAProject||Amoris International Collection}} for music from
Jennifer Paull's catalog.
- Click the Submit button. A Creative Commons
license is applied for all WIMA contributors. Therefore you are
requested to accept a license agreement
- Click the I accept button to complete the transfer of
the score file(s) to IMSLP. If the transfer succeeds you are taken to a
receipt page
- Click on the composition title to return to the IMSLP work
page of the composition. You will notice a cross to the
left of the IMSLP link to the score file(s). The cross signifies
that the score file(s) are blocked until an IMSLP copyright review staff
member has approved the composition license
- If a WIMA composition involves multiple score files the please upload the
files in batches like they're organized in IMSLP
- Music involving at most 5 players
- Original full scores and parts
- Arrangements and transcriptions (Scores and parts)
- Music involving more than 5 players
- Original full scores - Complete/Excerpts
- Original parts - Complete/Excerpts
- Original vocal scores - Complete/Excerpts
- Arrangements and transcriptions (Scores and/or parts)
(Original = the way the composer wrote it ; arrangements for recorder
consort or saxophone quartet may not be the way the composer intended.)
If you are uploading a very large number of scores to a single page
upload all of the original full scores as one batch; all of the parts to the
original version as a second batch; and arrangements as a separate batch
again.
